Houseplants ruining growing area in apartment?

I just got finished with another thread complaining about a huge increase in contaminants in my most recent batch of BRF cakes: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=10348946&page=0&vc=#10348946
I inoculate in the kitchen and don't have a glove box. About 5 feet away in my apartment is a window where I keep a lot of houseplants. I didn't have the houseplants for my last batch of BRF cakes. I've seen a huge amount of the green mold contaminants in my jars (about 1/2). Has anyone else had problems with maintaining sterile technique with houseplants near their work site?
...I think I'm going to build a glovebox...

Sorry, just realized that title could be potentially misleading. It's not the 'growing area', it's the 'inoculating area' being ruined.

Inoculation area: Still air, oust or lysol, don't breath on it, you should be golden.

A still air box is really easy to build with a large clear tube. Just cut 2 holes (on 2 sides rather than 1, its easier to work) for your arms, that's it
