A nice small welcome to the new season. The Autumn rain has finally arrived
The Autumn rain here in SA has been WAY below average fall.

HEY ALL,(new to posting) i have been for a few treks up thru kuitpo and found stuff all about 30 Min's walk from Christmas hill found a few amanita(not sure how to spell, Alice in wonderlands)but not much else i have a spot right in the city pretty much but the bloody council workers were parking there trucks right over the spot over summer and is takin its time for the grass to grow back just wondering whether they will grow there again this season or this spot which we accidentally found whilst looking for a bong after work one morning last season has to be forgotten after helping us trip for the first time on shrooms last season. p.s. tried cooking the Alice's by removing the gills and placing on baking tray in oven to cook them like chips but nothing there were about 9 of them and 4 of us but didn't trip(spewin) did we do something wrong or not enough dosage. cheers also sorry for really long post i have a photo of a shroom from our city spot from last year but i cant upload it??hmmm

Hi, i was wondering what type of climate ( plenty a rain and 20dg celsius?) is needed for mushrooms to grow where you live and what are the ideal places to look?

Heya dudes, first post!
Some bros and I went hunting today in Kuitpo forest, started in the pine forests and expanded the search beyond into the eucalyptus regions. We saw a boot-load of great looking amanitas (they're still there =p) and a sizable haul of what we believe to be Ps. Subaeruginosa from referencing other pictures around the site. An odd observation though; nearly all of our haul came from the eucalyptus tree areas. It's safe to say however, it's definitely mushie season in Adelaide.
Would love for a positive ID on these guys.

*EDIT* We took some more pictures since mine are pretty average.
Most of the mushies look like this - white woody stem with a caramel cap, bluing around the edge and stem.

All of these photos were taken about 5 hours after the mushrooms were picked. They have definitely darkened, but I'd say they've gone more brown than blue. The uncertainty is a killer fo' sure.
mod edit: removed exact location

Great find and pics Ever. Im still having trouble finding some subs.
Hope to find some soon though and upload them. I'm gonna go have a look on Friday.
And you pics definitely look like subs to me. They have the gold cap and If they're bruising blue then you got em! good work.

We've gone out for a couple of walks in parks around the place, like Ansteys Hill. But havent found anything yet. Ive not been shrooming before so its all new. Maybe over the next few days Ill go out into the hills a bit more and see what I can find.
Good tips here and photos are great, each time I find anything resembling a mushroom I pinch it to see if it turns blue, but having pics available is way better.
Thanks folks, Ill let you know when I come up with something.

Ummagumma 's a man of mystery, he lives deep in the forest tree tops.
Nice photo BTW, it looks like a massive tree trunk!
