They're looking good, but the HW taking longer is weird. All of my HW grew so much faster than the blosser, maybe I fucked up the root system on yours or something :p

So it only took the HW an extra day before it was fully acclimated as well. They are tons easy to care for, and I've started giving them small doses of nutes.

browness is most likely due to a humidity issue

Remember not to over water though, alot of people kill their plants like this, Water when the soil is dry up to an inch down. I water when the plant droops a little and it didn't even get black/brown tips. When you repot again try adding a little perlite if you can, helps with breathable soil= strong root growth.

I disagree. It's most likely due to poor airflow.

I agree. Baboon, your soil mix looks like a swamp. When you transplant them, go with something that drains faster and doesn't have a large amount of rotting wood. Take that and mix 50/50 with perlite and your salvia will do much better. I thought I told you to put perlite in with your mix!

Yeah my potting soil does kinda look like a swamp. A bunch of black fly eggs hatched while I had the humidity tents on them, and now they're slowly all dieing on that windowsill.
So far the plants seem to enjoy the potting mix and extra root space, but I'll repot with perlite when I get some more.

So I took a cutting from the Hoffman/Wasson and Blosser last night. Here's the little babies:

Those are very small, but as long as you had at least one node under and one node above the soil they'll grow. Be prepared for them to take a long time to grow though, and make sure they have a lot of humidity during the process.

Yeah there's an exposed node below the soil in both cuttings.

So my cuttings have started rooting, but they are also showing stress, possibly from not enough humidity, or those damn fungust gnat larvae got to them.
I re-potted my mother plants and cuttings into 30% Perlite and 70% Miracle Gro soil (didn't have enough perlite for 50/50).
I cleaned ALL my equipment, and made sure no soil from the previous pots transferred over, and that the soil I used was sterile. This was to make sure I get rid of the fungus gnats.
The only problem is the fungus gnats are swarming in the only area I can grow indoors, so I currently have my plants sitting out doors in shade.
I may keep them there for a few days. Will they be able to take the heat (even in shade?), and is it likely that they'll pick up some other pests like aphids or spider mites?
They are outdoors on the second story and near no other plants, so I hope the risk of pests is low.
I'll update with pics when I have the time, today's been a very busy day.

Here are the pictures: Browning on the cuttings:
HW's new growth
I think the Blossers growth has been stalled. This is what prompted me to re-pot (along with fungus gnats):

you should take bigger cuttings, with at least 4 leaves.

Neither the plants nor the clones look healthy to me. I'm guessing the roots are not happy with your mix: they probably don't have enough air or it's too compact. I'm also confused about the palm tree look: all plants I have end up growing from the lower nodes - is yours getting enough light?

I don't think they were. I'm gonna see how they do outside in shade for a few days till all these fungus gnats die. I may keep them out there if they like it.
*EDIT: I'm pretty sure the cuttings are in the condition they are because they took longer than I expected to root, and I began lowering the humidity already, but it turns out they still have tiny roots, so I'm gonna keep them in humidity tents for probably at least another week.
And yeah Drift, my Blosser was branching from lower nodes but then its growth completely stopped, and my HW hasn't ever branched from its lower nodes. Would this be caused by a lighting issue?

Yeah, that's a good idea. I can't quite put my finger on it, hopefully its the lighting / soilmix, but something wasn't quite right with those plants :p

Are you saying they could be unhappy with the current mix? I just repotted them today. But yeah, the last potting mix was really bad. It would harden into a really solid block of dirt when it dried out.

No, your old mix sucked.

Then that's why the growth stopped. The roots were unhappy!

So I ended up moving them back indoors to a different location. The Blosser was beginning to wilt from heat even though it was in full shade. I think the new location may provide more light, hopefully they'll be happy with it.
