is mycellum suppose to smell like ass. by ass i mean its smells a bit sour.i hve never grown shrooms before so i dont know what it suppose to smell like

It should smell earthy and shroomy. If it smells foul, you most likely have contamination.

I fit does not smell like the forest ofter the rain, then it's prolly wrong... anything other then an earthy smell (like your dirt basement), then throw it out.

it should smell good very good almost sweet. I like the smell of healthy jars alot. Your jar is not healthy. Im sorry.

Hehe first time I grew I had this same problem. I didnt know what it should smell like, and i figured a sort of foul smell was normal considering it is a fungi. But yea, after about a week and a half when I couldnt stand the horrid smell any more, which made anyone gag who even entired my home, I figured its probably not right. And even if that WAS right.. i though screw it, thats just pure agony. But, you live, you learn. But like sts said, it should smell earthy and shroomy, you'll know when you smell it. It smells like happiness in itself. Good luck to you on your next run.
