Jars
    #1032856 - 11/07/02 02:15 PM (21 years, 4 months ago)

Any one know where to get any? Ive run out and it seems this time of the year no one carries them. Any ideas where I might look? Sorry for wasting your time with such a retarded question, but everyone I ask seems to lead me to another dead end.

Wal-mart and K-mart usually have them. I would think especially this time on year (Fall) since it is canning season.

umm you'd think they would have them.. but walmart told me they wont again till next summer and k-mart doesnt carry them at all.

I live in a city... I have pretty much every chain store you can think of. Just moved here though, so I have to become aquainted with where things are.

If you have a Raley's they will have them. Drug stores will often order them in for you too. Maybe a Long's if you have them or other popular drug store chains.

Ive never seen them at a hardeware store, I couldnt possibly imagine why they would even sell them. But I will have to go check on that.

As for a Longs or Raleys never heard of them, but I will have to check those drug stores too.

Thanks

In reply to:

Do you live in a cave? Canning season is over and jars have been discounted and cleared out of the stores.

Sorry dude, we all dont freakin work there.

Just ask for someone in the ordering department. you might have to wait a couple weeks but they are usually pretty cool about stuff like that. Other than that. Do a search on the Internet and you can find them no problem.

the internet is pretty much immediate if you priority ship it. I know it sucks waiting all axiously. I had to wait 2 weeks before I found jars.

I thought you were looking for the halfs. Why are halfs so bad? I'm just starting and that's what I'm using. Should I think about something else?

I can't walk into a store here without tripping over a box of Kerr jars. Places that carry them include Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Albertsons', and Ace Hardware.

Look in the jams, syrup , jelly isle of a grocery store . If not there try www.doitbest.com , they are a bit pricy through the mail though . Also WAL MART , BIG LOTS, TARGET, KMART, ACE HARDWARE .
Good Luck

Ohh half pints are fine to use, I just think its tedious to use anything less then pints. You have to wrap more if you using foil and you end up using more perlite percentage wise compared to the substrate since you have to add a layer to each jar. I think its also more of a pain to innoc them.. too many sites. I guess I'm just lazy though.

Like I said walmart wont have them till next year, and target and kmart doesnt carry them here. Ill deff have to go into albertsons, I hadnt thought of it. Thanks for all of the responses though.

What do you mean add a perlite layer?
