Potted S. Divinorum

I received this young lady a few days ago. She lost six leaves in shipping, and was looking quite sad (see blackened leaf tips). She seems to be recovering, evidenced by the two small leaves forming at the top of the stem, along with extension of the two top leaves that are already there. I welcome any advice regarding survival and accelerating growth. I potted her in the terracotta pot shown, with a rich store-bought mix. The extra perlite visible on top is just a topping, and not indicative of the overall consistency. I have been using the home-brewed humidity tent visible in the first picture, with apparent success, removing it for a little longer each day. The plant is also two feet away from a constantly running ultrasonic humidifier. Sorry for the bad photo quality, I'm having trouble getting my hands on a decent camera...

Looks good to me, nice setup for keeping a shipping shocked salvia alive. I wouldn't even bother acclimating it yet though; give her some time to recover and establish roots in your new pot, then give it a go.

Looks like it will turn into a nice plant

Good luck, although it looks like you don't need much luck, you're doing great! I am soon returning to salvia after a couple years of not growing any and I can't wait, hope my first cutting looks as healthy as yours.

Yea dont worry about getting it used to humidity yet.. Id say priority number one would be that it gets an ideal humid environment for the next week or two

With the humidity I just kept mine in the bathroom there is a window in there that gets lots of light. Take a shower every day the steam sure creates a perfect environment for a Salvia plant. Since more than one person uses the bathroom I gets a few doses of a good fog. In nine months I ended up with a 4ft tall plant and a few clones that I just started.

Thank you all for the feedback. I have continued acclimating it to lower levels of humidity, albeit very slowly, as I agree the #1 priority is to allow for new growth. The two small leaves at the top have grown to about 1/2" long each, and the plant seems to enjoy its environment. I imagine as soon as it has established firm rooting in the new pot, the growth will accelerate.

Yes, and once its rooted well acclimating it to your RH will be easy.

Yup, you will know when this happens. Salvia is an extremely fast grower, and once it's happy with its conditions, you will know :p

Here is a recent picture. She is doing quite well, and I don't use a humidity tent except as needed (when the sun has been a little hot or after unexpected wind).

good job
get some diatomaceous earth and put a layer on the surface of the soil when it is reasonably dry, it will help to get rid of the fungus gnats and kill the larvae that are living in your pot.

The plant is about 10" tall now, climbing vertically. Thanks for the advice regarding diatomaceous earth. Those fungus gnats are irritating at best.
