my newest pedro! make cuttings, transplant or eat? advice?

well its not terribly new, Ive had this specimen for about a month. but besides my new sprouting cardon grande and buddahs temple, this is my newest cacti.

as you can see in the picture its one cactus that sprouts from one stump. it has two arms that produced pups whom grew to produce new pups etc resulting in what looks like a bunch of cacti grafted quite poorly together. i find no evidence of cuttings that where taken, it just ended up this way. i bought it as is growing at a nursery in a shaded green house, quite different from its newest home; my closet with only 2 26w cfls at some distance in cold high uv and very windy climate(no chance at it going outdoors).
should i cut off the pups and make multiple short "normal" cacti from each? should i just put the whole thing in a new pot (the current one is waaaaaaaaay to small). or should i just eat the thing? Ive never tried cacti before but i would feel bad about killing this specimen just to try it twice.
really i just wanted to share the picture with you guys.i have very little to none of my garden posted up. after my move when i get them under some real lights and a nice backdrop ill post some more.

the place i got it at was wonderful. it was acres and acres of cacti, they had 50 gal pots with multiple columns, maybe 4 feet on average for $50, unfortunately i had just visited a local arboretum and spent all my money on other cacti. out front they have a forest of pedro, its how i located it
i see NO EVIDENCE of cuttings being made from this plant except for the stump of course. i have no idea why those little round segments formed like that but i really like it. i tried rooting the top 6 inches from another pedro i had bought and now several weeks later it still has no roots on it though it doesn't seem to be dead... so, well I'm terrified of killing this plant trying to make cuttings.
the stick you see in the back is very necessary, i took off the strings that where supporting the cactus onto the stick before the photo shoot. I'm sure my cat will knock it over some day, breaking it into pieces, which is my main reason for wanting to make cuttings...
either way i love it. i recently did a marquis test on it and got what i think where positive results. Ive just never seen another pedro like it. (see chem thread)
does anyone else have a pedro growing this strangely? freaky cactus contest...

Those odd growths are probably frost damage...
Is it warm enough to be put in the ground? Cause you really should if you can manage it.
Edit: It just looks like a backberg clone thats had a really rough life to me....

no way could it go in the ground, its usually fafafafreezing at night here in flag and I'm moving in a week, apt 2nd story. btw elevation is around 7k feet. frost damage could make sense because it can get cold in wickenburg (where i bought it) but its usually hot, its in the sonoran desert (think frogs... more on this later). i say after i get back from Europe ill put it in a larger pot, no cuttings. i really need to decide on a new light. what size pot should i step up to?
cmon i want to see some other freaky cacti! the place where bought this had crested pedro but no for sell. ill go there again soon and take photos, this one cost me $20

looks like its previous owner has been deliberately damaging the aperical meristem to induce pupping.
i'd chop it up into its individual segments and root them, fucking ugly specimen IMO, sorry

Ahh some of my pedros have done that It's from insects eating the tops off the new branches as they just emerge, then the plant just shoots from the stump of that branch and it ends up with the little 'disc' of cactus where the eaten pup flattens out. I'd take cuttings and plant them seperately if I were you. On my plants having this done seems to reduce the flow of nutrients to the tip. The branches coming straight off the base are the thickest whereas the ones off the pup off the pup off the base seem to never grow as thick, even though they're in the exact same lighting conditions. It's your call though, its an awesome cactus

That San Pedro looks funny, I'd probably repot the 2 top branches.

Yes a very beautiful and unique plant, id keep it as it is but get a larger container to grow it in as FH said.
I like those huge tubs with rope handles, ya have to cut holes in the bottom for drainage of course but pachanoi love the root space and get huge in them.
Plus you can move them fairly easy if you have to, rope handles FTW.
