11. False - how is talking louder going to help someone that can't hear?
12. True? I almost want to say false because it seems body language and/or writing would be pretty viable methods, one does not always have an interpretor in their pocket.

Funny and true story

Tail end of an acid trip.  Been up for about 35 hours.  Changing my friends tire on my campus.  Between the sleep deprivation and the acid, im just out there.  Trying to skate board in little pebbles, playing loud music.

Two dudes in suits come up to us and ask "Do you know any deaf people that live around here?"

In my head im thinking "Dude i have been drunk, smoking hash and tripping acid for 30+ fucking hours, you honestly expect me to deal with you with out laughing"

We said no and they walked away.  Those two guys blew my mind.

I'm looking at the guys answers you said were all right... Deaf people really can't read as well as hearing people?
I guess I can see that... if you don't know what words "sound" like, I guess it would be harder to picture them in your head... I guess they might think more in terms of what words "feel" like, when they make them with their hands?
Weird.  I dunno.  I guessed on a couple, like the 90% of deaf people have parents who are deaf.  I have no idea on that one.

EDIT
Just found this, which may help to explain why some deaf people have difficulty reading... this is interesting as shit.
"While spoken languages are produced by the vocal cords only, and can thus be easily written in linear patterns, ASL uses the hands, head and body, with constantly changing movements and orientations. Like other natural sign languages, it is "three dimensional" in this sense."

I didnt miss shit because some of the questions are a bit
ambiguous, being as there's a deaf school here, most of these
guys can read or wright, same with St. Augustine, in fact I only
recall meeting 3 deaf people that couldnt read

it's a different thought process than the sounds of words, like
learning a foreign language, even if you;re fluent in the
language you're thoughs would still be in your native tongue,
are we to assume that non hearing people are incapable of linear
thought because they cant form the sounds of words in their heads?

I wasn't saying incapable, just saying that I can understand how it may be more difficult for them since its like learning a second language.

I'd have trouble picking up signing because I don't have to rely on it, its understandable some of them might have trouble learning to read as well as a hearing person.

learning to read is like learning a second language, that's why it
takes a couple of years just to learn the alphabet and it's
pronunciation, that way we can form words from all those weird
little symbols, what makes it different for the deaf

why wouldnt the deaf have to rely on reading, dont they enter into
contracts, drive cars, go shopping, pay bills, etc...
