Azurescens on WBS trasnferred slightly too early into wood chips. Green specks, azure is winning.

So a buddy of mine has an azurescens jar going.
He made the mistake of transferring his 90% colonized WBS to some wood chips.
A week later some little green spots of mold started showing up here and there. Not very much, and the azurescens seems to overpower the mold though.
The mold also does NOT seem to be colonizing the wood, just the remaining WBS, what little there is. So since this invader has not spread to the wood, would this still be suitable spawn for beds?
I know contaminated jars should be disposed of, but I think an exception in this case is appropriate since the mold will not transfer over to the wood and eventually starve or be eaten by azure mycelium.
Would you guys keep it, and just let the mold eat whatever remaining WBS there is, and be killed by the azurescens anyways?
Would you take out a few wood chips with nice rhizos on them put them in a new jar of wood chips?
I'm thinking just keep them, I'll see if he can get me photographs later. In the meantime, please let me know what you think.
Thanks All.

I am sorry I can't answer your question but I will console you by asking a question of my own instead: How long did it take the azurescens to colonize the wbs? About as fast, say, as p. cubensis? Sorry again I can't help with the mold issue. Good luck.

Well I helped him with an issue. He attempted to do this with jars that didn't have any GE holes.
I showed him what's up with tyvek, and after that they were 90% in a week or so.
I've never grown cubensis so I personally don't know how to compare the two species.

I guess it would be best to take clean wood with only rhizos on it, transfer to new chips, bed the stuff with the mold and check in Autumn...
I suppose that would be best unless anybody disagrees.

It is great that you can colonize a jar in a week with Azures.Even if you find fruiting them impossible, you still have some mighty myc for your efforts.
