Yeah, things could get pretty ugly with the right controlling everything....it's like they take all our tax money and use it against us (anticipating increased atempts at invading privacy and making narcs out of the populace).

"it's like they take all our tax money and use it against us"

my thoughts exactly. i would rather pay more taxes to have necessities of life taken care of (such as education, social security, well-fare, publicly funded elections) instead of paying taxes and losing freedoms because the government is fascist and it wants to take over the world and spread its christian agendas and make war on everyone. It wants to search your emails with Carnivore and put up cameras at intersections to get your license plate number and be able to tap your phone line without a judges consent.

Watch the economy go even further down the toilet. I think that this is the begging of the end for the republicans. now that they have total control it means that they have total accountability for what they do. they no longer can blame anyhthing on liberals or democrats or anything but themselves. the economy is never going to come out of the recession it is in as long as you have people giving tax cuts to corporations. The republicans are going to reap the consequences of their administration in the 2004 elections. George Bush will not be reelected.

It's not like there's any difference. Corporate welfare increased more under Clinton than Bush. Both republican and democrat are big business puppets. Who gives a fuck which puppet is in office?

A truly great day in America. Seems enough people have come to their senses.

Next election will see even more conservatives in power.

What is it that the conservatives want to conserve? I would be happier to see some more constitutionalists elected.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Probably not. If it does, it'll be a pretty big victory for the democrats in the election after that. It's a seesaw kind of deal. People pick one side until they fuck things up enough, then they go back.

So would I. But that's not likely to happen as soon as you and I would like so in the meantime, I'd rather go the right than to the left.
