I had to take a 4 year break from it because of random attacks outta nowhere that only happened when I smoked.
At first.
Then my anxiety turned into a disorder. Now, four years later, Im smoking again. At first, I could only take 1 hit. Now I have reached my comfort level, after purposely throwing myself into weed induced anxiety attacks. I have also cut down my xanax intake to a 1/3 of what Im supposed to take.

I have not smoked for over 2 months now for that very same reason.........I cant tell you what happened ,because I dont know...nothing changed except i stated getting massive axiety.
I have been smoking for over 20 years all day every day and never had this problem before,my stoner buddies used to get on me about how much I smoked ,it was nothing to sit down and crank out 50 pinch hits in a row.
I have been smoking about a ounce a month for the last 7 or 8 years and it just hit me one day,I even took a big hit last week after 5 or six weeks break and that same feeling came back from one hit ..... I dont know what to say ,it might just be over for me ,even though I have weed and want to smoke,it might not be posssible anymore.
I have alot of older buddies that dont smoke anymore for that very reason ,they said it just started making them paranoid/anxiety...so they quit after trying to keep smoking..........I might be at that point now......
I hope not,I would still like to smoke on occasion ,but not if it makes me feel massive anxiety.I have a big ball of hash and thought it was that so I tried just weed and it still happened ,so I blamed it on the sack and got different weed and it still happened......so now I have a big ball of hash and 2 different kinds of killer weed I cant smoke.

Probably has something to do with the amygdala and abuse of cannabis. I wouldn't do any kind of drug everyday; that's just asking for eventual long-term health consequences.

exactly the reason i took a reasonably long break from smoking after smoking for 10 years. i smoke again now, but not nearly as much as i used to and i find it better that way as i still get anxiety from time to time, especially if i smoke too much. i always said i would always love marijuana, but it's kinda love/hate these days. i like it sometimes, but most the time i'd rather be sober.
don't be shocked though, it happens to the best of us.

Yup, I was smokin way too much when it started with me. I cant overdue it even after all these years, but at least I can smoke again.

The same thing happened to me and it's the reason why I do not smoke. I used to smoke a couple grams a day (everyday.. I was always high and loved being high whilst doing anything) and one day it started making me anxious/paranoid. I still cannot smoke without getting extremely anxious so I don't even try. It's more common than you would think. I know quite a few people who have experienced this.

I used to kill eighths in a day before I frequently used psychedelics and now I usually can't tolerate more than a couple bowls in a single sitting.

There was a good few months of my life when cannabis gave me anxiety. It's really disheartening when your feel-good herb of choice makes you terrified of anything and everything.
That said, I did get through it - this isn't a permanent situation, you just have to change whatever conditions you're living under that get under your skin while you are high. If anything this is a great opportunity to do some real work on yourself. My personal solution was to get out more - to go on tons of hikes in all the beautiful parks and detours this country has to offer. Being stoned inside made me uncomfortable so I got out. Like, a lot - this is simply how you should spend your freetime. I know you're an east bayer too, go check out some parks.

I hear that. I think I may have gotten anxiety a little before I tripped for my first time---------- but after psychedelics, my high's are wayyyyyyyyyy more intense and weed almost makes me trip in a way- get lost in my head- feels like a hint of lsd when I get high

Yes. After heavy usage of LSD and DMT I just couldn't smoke weed the same way I did before. For almost a year, just taking a good toke of some good hash would give me really intense flashbacks, and that's generally not what I want out of a toke.
