Industrial Laminar flow Contaminated

I bought a secondhand laminar flow bench at a auction ,I had a discussion with one of the people where this machine came from ,according to him they had all kinds of contam problem with it, they replaced the Hepa filters but it didn't help any so the machine was in storage for 3 years where it was very dusty, after which I bought it When I made the first plates there were no contams the first 5 days and then suddenly the plates seem to be fully contaminated as if something walked on the agar , I could not see any visible mites,I stripped the machine to see where there could be a problem the tabletop was contaminated with trich at the raw piece at the back where it was cut the wood must have gotten wet at some stage, I replaced the top with a new one and cleaned the machine but I still have the same results. The machine takes two hepa filters 595 " 595 " 200 that will cost 8 times the amount I paid for the machine if I have to replace them.
My Question if its mites how do I get rid of them if they are in the filters without damaging the filters?
Would it help to fumigate the lab while keeping the machine on ,or will this damage the filters?
Any suggestions

Mites in the filters? Trash 'em.
Then strip the thing down as far as you can, clean it as well as you can, and reassemble.

If the problem comes back, and the filters are ceramic/aluminum, you might be able to bake them in an oven to kill off whatever is inside. RR

Unfortunately the filters is not ceramic/aluminum,I did not know you get ceramic/aluminum hepa filters, if it does come back I will make it a weekly fumigation routine until I kill it all,so far so good.

Paper is pretty heat resistant if you are careful with it. I bet you could bake them at 120-140 degrees and kill off anything living in there. Carefully.
