I heard a Dismemberment Plan song before that was making me think-

What if society were pleasure based and had machines to do the work for us..........

of course you would still need doctor's and stuff like that, but they would have incentive to be the rich ones.

Just an idea- what you all think?  :bongroll:

I think it very much like that now; most of the things we work for are for pleasure.  You could get nearly all your needs covered with little to no work.

This is a pleasure based society. The reason for war and the slaughter of our species, is to be turned into even blinder zombies by even bigger TV's. The machines have enslaved humanity. Total exterimnation is our destiny. The matrix has become reality.

Epicurism could be useful to modern rich societies.

But still, saying that machines could do all the work for everyone might be somewhat vague as an expectation - distant, too.

If we would live in nature, nature would be doing all the work for us. Food, sex, friends, family, etc are all free.

But now suddenly, when we have machines to lighten the work, we have to work as slaves. Wtf?

In nature, you are a slave of your needs. You must look for food and water in order tu survive, you cannot leave your home if you're not a nomad...

Today, we could maybe say we are slaves of our desires.

Who cares dude? Whats wrong being a slave of yourself? There is definately something wrong with being a slave of a mindless and emotionless machine.

You can master your desires, turn hell into heaven. Aldoux Huxley wrote a famous book about this on mescalito. Heaven and Hell. How it is all about perspective. Shrooms and mescalito are teachers who show you how to master your desires.
