Fruiting stage..

I probably post a new question everyday but thats alright. Im in the fruiting stage with a casing and 5 cakes in my terrarium. Everything except the temp is good. It is only around 63-67F. I have seen zero pins on the cakes and my casing doesnt even look like its gonna work. I just added a fish tank heater in a thing of water to hopefully raise the temp. I put everything in about 3 days ago. Im guessing the cold has prevented from pinning? And also my casing kind of looked matted probably had overlay. So i took a sterile tool and kind of stirred up the top layer alittle. To free up the top layer and get some air down to the colonized layer. Hardly any mycelium has peaked thru after i have done that....is there still a chance it could fruit or did i mess it up? Thanks!

temp is way low. 3 days is not nearly long enough. overlay is made of mycelium and doesn't occur without it.

Ive read over the FAQs dozens of times...but sometimes it just helps to get the perspective of people who've personally been through it. Sometimes they can shed more insight on it ya know? thanks for the response tho.

i have little more experience than you but after reading the faqs and using the search engine i can advise you to raise your temps, wait a lot longer before guessing something is wrong and quit stirring up your casing material because you do not have overlay. all this info is in the faqs and/or in these posts if you just look. don't mean to be a dick; i'm just trying to point you toward a wealth of information that is only a few mouse-clicks away. :grin:
