It does depend a little on the community college that you choose, there are some really good community colleges out there that provide the quality of learning as any other major university and provide an great stepping stone to transfering to a university. Ive spent some time in a community college here and Ive come to the conclusion that everyone who has access to a decent community college should go there to do their entry general education classes before transfering to university. Basically anyone who doesnt have a full paid scholarship but has access to a decent community college but still goes straight to university is a fool... Save your money!
PS: a lot of community colleges have teachers that work part time at the college and full time at a University. So youre getting the same teachers and the same materials, and youre not really paying for anything but books...

Its a kick ass job. I get to drive around in my company truck all day and only see my boss for 15 minutes in the morning. Its not that way for everyone but I do my job so I don't need much supervision.
cool, sounds interesting.

you wasted 3 years at a community college? i hope that was part time only
no, i went full time, and it was by no means a waste. i did 1 year at CC, then transferred to ASU for 1 semseter, didn't like it and transferred back. but since i transferred back in the spring, it was too late to apply for the schools i was interested in (UCs). so i had to wait anohter year before i could transfer, and so i took up spanish again while i was there, along with my german, and when i left i was awarded three scholarships and a few departmental awards.
so no i didn't waste my time. and i worked full time pretty much the whole time i was at CC
and now i have a GPA over 3.6 at UCLA. i'm thoroughly satisfied with my choices
