Have a couple of straight verm casings going. Is this contam or should I start fruiting?? And if it is myc should I put on more casing?? obvious noob at work here....

Used simple BRF tek, and cased w/ sterile verm. Crumbled the cakes to spread them out over the area. layer of verm, layer of crumbled myc, layer of verm.

Looks fine to me, I did something close and ended up with this.

If you have a problem with side pinning, you might want to cover the sides to block light from entering the sides.

I now have two PFR ready, but there is some dicoloration. Should I birth or toss these?

Looks a little wacky, could be mold, since you probably wouldn't have metabolites at that stage (unless you were incubating at high temperatures). Also it looks like there are two different types of mycelium

Give it a couple days to see if it gets any worse.

When you birth, make sure they smell like mushrooms. If not, throw them in a pot of boiling water for 30 minutes and then start over

Everything looks good, but for future reference, vermiculite is a poor casing material. It's barely better than no casing layer at all - you'll have far fewer headaches and save much more time just using crumpled wax paper.

That's what I was wondering?? Wax Paper?? To keep the humidity high in the chamber we use a fishtank bubbler in a plastic pan with distilled water. Plus we keep a small ceramic heater in the room to keep the temp level.

have u tried them yet? i ate some creeper last weekend and it got me fucked up. more than mexican albinos did. but they were freash. i am gonna eat some dry ones tonight.
