question about p. ovoideocystidiata

ive been trying to do as much research as possible about ovoids, where they grow, what they grow by or on. i always end up with the same answers. search near overflow areas and rivers and streams and on hardwoods buried in thick vegetation. no one lists what temperatures they favor. so thats my question, at what range in temperature do ovoids prefer to grow? ive noticed that many of the mushrooms listed show habitat, but never preffered temperature.

well here in northern michigan its been a steady 50-60 degrees for the past week or so. pleanty of rain this week, and today was partly cloudy, a little bit of sun and the high was 52 degrees Farenheit. i ahvent been finding any muchrooms at all though. the only ones ive been able to find are gyromitras. im kind of disappointed in the lack of mushrooms growing in my area.

I think an indicator is if morels are fruiting, so are Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata. Well, except for when the ovoids fruit in November.

The Ovoids are usually 1 to 2 weeks behind morels in my areas. Overlapping with each other just a few weeks. Temperature wise I would say highs in the upper 60's to low 70's and low in the upper 40s to 50s.

well i've been finding gyromitras everywhere, and it is said that morels follow them by a week or 2, so i imagine i'll be finding those very soon. hopefully if i have any ovoids in my area i will start finding them soon as well.

also, put the species you're looking for in the search function up top the page. you'll find lots of info, and if you speel it wrong, it will ask, did you mean *?
so yeah.

also, just remember that they grow faster when it's more humid. like right after a good rain and it's warming up and kindof that magical time after a storm....you know? that's a good atmosphere for them to grow. Don't be against getting down in the earth's business, when you've found a possible spot.
The best tip for hunting is not to constantly look down, but more like look around for places that look inviting (easier to do this, when you've actually found them before). Once you've arrived at a good looking hunting grounds, THEN you need to give it the full treatment. If there's tall grass, get down and dirty, and look for those suckers.
