Swine H1N1 - A reason to declare martial law?
#10270713 - 05/01/09 09:05 PM (14 years, 10 months ago) |

So.
Apparently this new Swine H1N1 is a product of Bird Flu, Swine Flu, and several Human Flu strains. Some are insisting that this is only possible through gene splicing and not the natural evolution of the virus.
My concern is this.
If the Avian Flu has a mortality rate of 80-90%, and this new H1N1 has a mortality rate of 6%, why is there so much buzz in the media about it? Could it be to start panic throughout the populous? 36,000 people die in the U.S. each year from "normal" influenza strains. Is there a real serious threat, or is it to start panic?
Will this be the reason for declaring martial law soon?

I guess so.
I mean, it seems to be nowhere near as dangerous as Avian Flu, yet it's getting much more attention.
Maybe it's because it got into this country whereas Avian didn't (I think).
Could that just be the reason? Now that I think about it, I suppose it could be.
What about how some people insist that this could only be accomplished through gene splicing? Do you think that's B.S.?
Any geneticists here?

There was just an article saying how the flu isnt nearly as dangerous as it was thought to be. This is hardly reason to declare martial law.

Yeah but my point is then why all of the fuss about it?
I mean, it's like every five minutes you hear or see something pertaining to it.
Seems like they're trying to induce a panicked state-of-mind or something!

actually, pigs are kind of weird in that they have cell surface protein receptors (that influenza recognizes) of not only their own, but share extremely similar ones to both birds and humans. this means they can act as a literal biological splicing factory, where multiple strains of influenza can literally stew together and exchange genetic information.
this stroke of unluck (for pigs, genetically) combined with the disgusting practices of modern day industrial meat farms, has opened the door to the rise of some extremely nasty pathogens. multiple-antibiotic resistant bacteria are commonplace, since so many antibiotics are used just to keep the poor things alive.
here is a good video questioning the risk to human health and safety that these corporate agri-biz farming techniques cook up.

Nice.
I wonder why there is such a buzz about this one then.
Like I was saying, it only seems to have a 6% mortality rate. Yet something like Avian Flu has 80-90%!
If you look at healthmap.org and view some of the "markers" in The U.S. You'll see that Avian Flu is also in The States too. Why isn't there any fuss about that?
I don't get it. To me it seems like they're trying to induce a panicked state or something.

good questions, i much prefer this angle of "conspiracy theory," except for the fact that it's 100% true:
Gilead Sciences, the company that owns the rights to antiviral treatment Tamiflu, stands to make billions from a worldwide pandemic, not to mention from simple fear and panic stirred up by the media. and guess who served as Gilead chairman from 1997 until 2001 when he joined the Bush administration? Rumsfeld. i mean, you can't make this shit up. you might say he is very well positioned for a spike in stock prices resulting from a worldwide scare.
here is an article from 2005 when it was the avian flu scare.

I recall hearing about Rummy being instrumental in bringing us the wonders of aspartame (and securing a tidy profit in the process of course). What a douche!
EDIT
funny we were thinking of the same thing.

Why else?
Media makes money by keeping people hooked- "Tonight at 11, want to stay alive and not the bringer of a deadly quickly spreading virus to your young children and have the blood of the destruction of 100's of people on your soul? Watch channel el ocho for the latest tips and tricks!"
Tamiful's maker, makes money. Talking about big ca-ching-ching.
Hospital, do they make money? Maybe but I dont think its because hospitals and doctors are evil, maybe I'm just baised studying med.
The day I make some money, enough to invest, it's all going into big pharma.
(By the way your question could directly apply to global warming/cooling/climate change w/e the fuck people want to flip-flop to now adays. Why keep talking about it? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)

By the way, I have no moral/ethical problems/hangups or qualms with money.
Infact, I love money. Really, I do! And I want as much of it as I can get.
What I have a problem with is direct manipulation by individuals to extract and play others to attain their cash whilst leading people, like the piper did the rats, to drown in their own blindness.
People are intrinstically good. The only way for our race to advance is to have as many aware and working individuals further themselves. After all Henry Ford invented the assembly line but not the car. But add the car and the line and the whole human race surged forward.

GREAT JOB CITIZEN!
We see you've been doing your part to help the media and governments spread the fear of a flu that's apparently less lethal than the common flu, in the US alone 36,000 people die each year from the flu, that's almost 100 people per day while world wide this crap has killed only @ 150 people in a month
yeah, quite the fucking pandemic

Yeah but I don't consider making jokes out of matters where people lost their lives, and extreme deceit was used to push an agenda to be very funny.
Making jokes of that is cynical to me...

Sometimes making a joke of it all, especially the most negative aspects, is the only way to get a new, clear perspective.
Satire is an amazing tool.
Then again I only am speaking for myself on how I view all those NWO and 9/11 sig's and such.
Even if they don't present it as satire (nor believe that it is) that doesn't stop me from adapting it and accepting it as such. That way we can all work on the same field. ^.^

Meh. I don't give a shit if people lost their lives. I pretty much loathe just about every human being I've ever met, so it would be fairly hypocritical to pretend I gave a shit if they kakked it.
And extreme deceit is used to push just about every single agenda in the USA, and has since before the ink dried on the US constitution. With maybe 5 exceptions, every war we've ever gotten into has been fought for reasons totally unconnected to what the public has been told.
The public knows this, and permits it. Ergo, they deserve everything they get.

It's not a conspiracy, if that's what you mean. The media just loves hyping up the latest disease of the week. They've done it with SARS and avian flu, too. People are already starting to question whether H1N1 is overhyped, meaning that if Obama declares martial law he'll face an increasing amount of resistance.

I love how the right makes shit up about what Obama is going to do, and then scare themselves with it.

Well I kind of changed my tune about the media's hype. As soon as one of the posters here informed me that Rumsfeld plays a LARGE role in the company that produces Tamiflu, I changed my tune.

Fuck rummy and aspartame and this new vaccine.-
Quote:
My guess is that you can expect to see a lot of panic over this issue in the near future. But the key is to remain calm -- this isn't the first time the public has been warned about swine flu. The last time was in 1976, right before I entered medical school and I remember it very clearly. It resulted in the massive swine flu vaccine campaign.
Do you happen to recall the result of this massive campaign?
Within a few months, claims totaling $1.3 billion had been filed by victims who had suffered paralysis from the vaccine. The vaccine was also blamed for 25 deaths.
However, several hundred people developed crippling Guillain-Barré Syndrome after they were injected with the swine flu vaccine. Even healthy 20-year-olds ended up as paraplegics.
And the swine flu pandemic itself? It never materialized.
More People Died From the Swine Flu Vaccine than Swine Flu!

Which is a good thing. Think about it. How many might have died if they hadn't used the vaccine?
In any case, it's not even the same virus, nor is it the same vaccine. The only similarity is the name 'swine flu', which is not even the name of the current virus any more.

Yeah the surface proteins are definitely different.
I still think the whole Rumsfeld explanation fits better than it being more dangerous than they claim.
