Permanence

Why are we humans so stuck on the concept of permanence?
Even I'll admit that I have this desire for some things that I create (sculptures, photographs, whatever) to last forever. Maybe it's because it represents a partial view into my measurements of this place. Maybe it's something else.

Its probably the same reason people keep breeding without noticing that there are too many of us. So many of us, in fact, that all sorts of creative viruses and bacterial infections keep popping up to try and wipe some of us out....
-=- Matt/Strumpling -=- *ahem!* sorry for the outburst..

The Mantids are haughty, rude and try their best to intimidate new contactees,They may know best but they have something to learn about respect and polite action.I personaly believe they need us far more than we need them!(who has the corporeal form eh?)Can you tell I have a somewhat adversarial relationship with these entitiies?WR

All I can say Sclorch is man has lusted after that which he cannot have since we became man.Permanence is unobtainable, hence is one of man's great desires(ie;the pyramids,mt.rushmore, stonehenge, greek and roman stonework are attempts at permanence) Just chalk it up to our ephemeral nature that we lust for permanence WR

You know I'm really not sure what their "game" is I've encountered them at least 2 dozen times and ALWAYS they began rudely asking why I take so long between visits.I was always intimidated by their forceful prescence until we met while I was using Saint Pete and I distincly told them to back off, that they obviously needed me more than I needed them, so show some respect. That terminated ALL contact for over a yr.Now They still are rude(perhaps just their nature?) but are more respectful during our encounters. They seem very frusrated with man for being so materialy focused and think we need to spend more time constructing thought fractals(?) basicly they wish we would work more on our spiritual geometry than our physical plane. Not knowing their motivation for this desire and not entirely feeling like our interests are in alignment I am suspicious of this desire on their part. But yes I think the Mantids are bastards and jealous of our corporeal form.WR

perhaps it's a reaction to the constant tacit knowledge we harbor of our own slowly creeping deaths.

I left that out intentionally... I figured that this was the most likely cause.
