I think it's relevant if you cause and accident but only a test that can reveal if you were intoxicated at that present time.

Or it could be that the wording is confusing and some people (like me) voted for the wrong one based on the thread title. I read the title, and voted yes, then realized that the poll was not asking the same thing as the thread title. D'oh.

What source would that be?

I bet if you have been arrested for a drug related charge, it might go against you somehow. Otherwise, I don't even think drugs would come up, but I could be wrong.

Perhaps, but why name the thread "Should pot smokers be allowed to adopt" and then have a yes/no poll thats asking a different question?
Make a clearly worded poll with a thread title to match and you will see that very few people think you should be barred from adoption for smoking pot.
My opinion on the original question of the thread is that if you really want people drug tested, then it should be for ALL drugs...caffeine, nicotine, aspirin, etc., since those are also mind altering drugs, and should also bar someone from adopting. Why be a hypocrite, ya know? (not saying you are, just saying, drugs are drugs, legal or not, either test for all or none)

Geomancer makes an indefatigably satisfactory point here...
