Looking for a programmable timer
    #1025793 - 11/05/02 10:42 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I'm trying to find a timer to use for fruiting chamber automation (fans and such). All the timers I can find are configured to where the SMALLEST interval of "on" time is a half-hour. I can foresee possible problems with this, such as evacuation of too much humidity while airing out the chamber.

I'd like to find something I can program in detail. Any help?

I don't think they they have timers like that....technically you could hook two timers up together at once, so you can measure it out to 15 minutes an interval. It's going to be really hard though.

I know for a fact that "they" have timers like that. I'm just trying to track down a "they" who distributes such a timer at a reasonable, affordable price.

You have a hardware store or a home depot near you?

They have them there.

I've tried plenty of hardware stores. No Home Depot near by but I could make a trip.

Do you have any brand or model in mind?

umm yea actually they do make some crazy stuff like that. Cant rememeber who it was, but someone showed me all this shnazy green house stuff that will can adjust co2, humidity and lighting for you. Its to where its not even on a timer, you just tell it how humid u want it and that what it does. but i think those things run at like $150-600, probably would need anything like that unless you really do have a green house or something.
Maybe you'll be able to find something here

but thats probably more then you can afford.

I think These guys have a digital one that you can adjust to as little as one minute... if i read right

Just look around the web, there are plenty of them out there, it all depends on how much you want to spend compared to how accurate you really need to be.

If you know a bit of electronics (and have some time on your hands),
program an old PC to do it for you.
The smallest interval will be well under one second.

Go to www.homedepot.com then click on Timers located in the left hand menu. Then to indoor timers.. The first one on the list is one that does 15min and it's only $5.00, it's similiar to the one that I use..

curious, how much was that radio shack timer? sounds nice.

my friend's 15 minute non-digital timer was $5.
