Don't feel bad, that't not really a good stock anyways, you'd have to be a cactus ubermeister in order to get that done. Opuntia subulata SUCKS as a rootstock.

It ate all of the graft and hollowed out a little bit of the center of the scion :mad2:

I would be as annoyed if the graft were a fail, but it has been 3 weeks and it was just beginning to plump up.
What is it with birds and cacti seedlings?

Opuntia seems to be ok, not columnar species like his though.

I think opuntia is an excellent rootstock
Difficult to get them to take sometimes, but it works great when they do.
Thats why I'm so pissed; this one has taken and was growing.

He's content. Was singing his little feathered ass off when I entered the room and found him perched near the graft. He eats a lot of broccoli, so maybe it looked like fair game to him

Could be. He has been more vocal the past few hours. Also has been crashing into shit, he's usually not as clumsy in flight

I guess it didn't have a lot of mescaline, but these birds weight nothing so I think he could still feel it.

I'm not seriously thinking he felt any effect from it, but its quite possible I guess.
