talking cardboard, you shouldnt encounter any problems.

actually, iver ead from people using newspaper, that its all good as long as you
tear out the colored pages - so ink shouldnt be a problem actually ..
good luck

Are mushrooms which were cultivated from paper waste (newspapers, old books) edible?

Yes, and even the colored inserts are considered to be soy based these days. Use the newspaper, shredded office paper, pizza hut boxes ... whatever

OLD books, (Or newspapers) say twenty or older are not necessarliy safe.  They still used lead in the ink, and a mushroom will accumulate it.

Also, Bible Cubes, grown on a cheap Chinese bible, might also bear testing.  Some other countries use up all the surplus that's generated when poisonopus things become illegal.  Also, it may still be legal to use lead ink in some countries or their laws may be poorly enforced.

In the nineties, I owned a printing shop in Toronto, and it was not unusual to be using inks old enough to contain lead that happened to be around.

One of our famous colours at my shop was known as "1956 Gold" after it's year of manufacture.

I'll bet anything there was lead in that. :omgz:

Somethings just don't look as good without the old-fashioned toxic ingredients. :hehehe:

And it hasn't done me any harm....(!?):crazy2:
