No Violence=No Media Coverage
    #1022753 - 11/05/02 12:51 AM (15 years, 3 months ago)

Some friends and I were talking about the lack of media coverage on the huge protest in DC and San Fran, and came to the conclusion that this was because it was peaceful. A lot of protests have happened in the past 5 years, but only the ones where anarchists show up and get violent get decent coverage. Sucks huh?

No Violence (or No Sex) = No Ratings.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

To be anything but peaceful would not be productive to a 'Peace' movement.

Sucks yes that it wouldn't be covered by our national media cuz there was no violence. That thought puts a chill down my back.

Is the glass half-full or half-empty? I say it is both.
