I have a couple ?'s.
    #1022482 - 11/04/02 11:03 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Ok, I know im going to get flamed for asking these ?'s but here I go. Oh and I have read the faq, and to many tek's.. First I just did my first casing 4 day ago. It was cased with 2 cakes and Vermiculite top and bottom. I covered it put holes in the top and after 4 days I can just see white coming through. Is that about right, Its been at about 85 to 86 degrees for the 4 days.

Ok my other ? is on my cakes I b-dayed about 5 days ago have what looks like small white ball's growing on the top of the cakes, what is this and what is making it happen? Its about 75 degrees in there and hum is above 95. On my first try this didn't happen..

Thank's

The white balls are just primorida. You can pick them off if you want, it's nothing bad.

I wouldn't pick them off as pins are likely to develop from them.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

Yup .. your casing sounds like its ready to be fruited .... Ild transfer it to the fruiting chamber assuming the mycelium growth you can see underneath (in the pockets of the what should be fluffy casing layer) is uniform throughout the casing. Mine are usually ready in three to four days at those temps.

The casing is only showing alittle white fuzz in only a few places. I think I made the top layer to thick. What can I do to speed things up if any??
Thank's

You should patch your casing, then when the mycelium patches are evenly distributed, you should fruit it. Of coarse if you haven?t already.
