hey guys here in my next growth im going to use fishtank terranium with perlite on the bottom, i was going to hook up a super sonich humidifier up but im not sure if perlite can handle this method, what is the method of himidifing most preffered when using perlite and how often

also when im covering the holes of the can after innoculation should i put on just tape or is their somthing safter that could keep out more contaminents, i saw a picture where a guy put cotton swabs on his and tinfoil

also how long do i have to gennerally wait before the needle can be used again after i heat it with a lighter, how long does it take to get cool im worried im killing it

Wet perlite is the best method of humidification when using perlite.

Keep your jars incubating in a closed, clean environment, like a styrofoam cooler.

I wait around 30 seconds or so and haven't had any problems yet.

You seem to be a little confused about a couple of things. Perlite is itself a method of humidification. When you say can, do you mean canning jar? If you do mean can as in metal can, you won't be able to see when it's colonized. If you do mean jars, tape works fine but I personally leave the wholes uncovered but leave the whole top of the jar covered with foil. After you flame red hot, just squirt out a few drops to cool the needle off before innoculating. Hope this helps.
