not difficoult - once fully rooted and well established new branches will easily form upon cutting (i.e., harvesting) the tip the peruvian pictured in this post is an odd one, as it formed the new branches (4 originally, one was detached during a move and replanted separately) directly on the tip, which was had not been cut off. it's one of my favorite specimens: 12 ribbed and a very hard worker

If someone bought a Peruvian Torch and wanted to keep a live specemin but also use some of it(enough for 2 strong doses) to trip, what would you do to keep part of it growing???

I think its rooted... I consumed my previous cactus so I'm getting a new one. I'm not sure if I can post the link, so PM me.

if its rooted, once its well established in the ground you just cut off the tip, and the rest will continue growing. ideally you would have a 2 footer to start out, so you cut off one foot, enough to dose, and leave the other grow until you have enough new growth, and so on. an almost eternal free source available to you. take good care of it

What if its only a 12in. cutting? If I wanted a live specimen and wanted enough to dose 2 people really strong, how much would I have to use??? Also, would I have enough left to grow???

well in my experience you want to do AT Least about a foot of cactus maybe more depedning on how bad you want to trip, if you have the supplies and time check out erowids info on the extraction of mescaline, i read in this article which i think is also on this site if you leave the middle of the cactus which is not of much use to trip anyway it will grow again. check out erowid it has a lot of good info on this. . but o god it tastes so fowl bitter *shudders* but its makes you feel good though. well me anyway.

High Comario, I like your plants. I have been impressed with the growth rate of my pups. Since late July mine have grown over four inches. Here's a recent pic:

Hey comario, theoretically, if mescaline was legal, how much would you take for a strong trip???

you need to search the matter in detail, e.g. on erowid. also, do a search here for "pedro syrup", it's got all you need. very roughly speaking, 2feet, but again you must consider all the variables, such as exact size of the specimen, its age, time of harvest, particular strain, etc etc

I bought them from Bouncing Bear Botanicals last spring. They were about 14 inch end cuttings. I think the catus has grown about eight inches, while the pups have grown about four in a little over three months.

what has been your experiences with the cactus? what was the best ingestion method for you? Did it make you feel all like tingly inside and when you went to sleep did you not want to wake up the following day?
zero none the less zero one zero one less than zero

best ingestion method? the pedro syrup. experiences? great. as to sleep, i usually get so nicely charged up (tingly?) that i forget about sleep for a day. when it comes down, hum, yup, i guess i feel pretty tired. to do the whole experience without worries, i like to schedule at least a 3/4 days "do not disturb" period
