found these in the woods in illinios after a good rain.they are a pinkish white the gills are a pinkish color also .they have a strong smell of a yummy mushroom.waiting on a print to form so can help with identification there are three known species in illinios "psilocybin"Gymnopilus sp. Panaeolus cinctulus Pluteus salicinus.after doing a little research they look just like Pluteus salicinus. they are about two inch wide caps kinda mushy or spongy they do not bruise. will post the print when it is finished.new to this so any other info needed please let me know .that was the best i could do with the pics had to use my phone for camera.

Were they growing directly from wood, or were they growing on the ground?
Happy mushrooming!

Any wrinkling or is it kinda bumpy at the center of the cap?
Tiny hairs on the cap surface?
Any bluing at the base of the stipe? Dicoloration of the gill edges perhaps?
Are you sure they were not growing from buried wood?
Did you remove any volval remnants from the base of the stipe?
Just asking to possibly narrow it down.

there is wrinkling at the middle of the cap.no hairs on the cap sufface, not any discoloration, kinda all a basic pale pink.here is the best pic i could take of the gills they are a llittle white at the edges it turned up a blue color from the reflection of my shirt. Im positive that i picked them from the ground not wood although i belive they were next to a log on the ground.there is three in all.and it is possible that part of the decaying log could have been underneath it.

It's one of the hundred or so species of Pluteus. The key I used keyed out to two species that they could be,but are not.
I wouldn't eat them.

thanks, quick question though,i live towards the southern part of ilinios and we have 60 acres of pasture land.people say that cubes grow around here, but i cant find anywhere to verify that.ive looked here http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-psilocybin-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area but they aree not listed .anyway in pastureland what out of these three listed for ilinios Gymnopilus sp. Panaeolus cinctulus Pluteus salicinus would i likely find in or around all the cow shit and straw??????and would they even b out yet considering the temp has only been50s to 60s and rainy?

Cubensis doesn't grow wild in your area.
Try horse poo and straw for Panaeolus cinctulus. You wont find much in cow pastures but maybe a few Panaeolus cintulus in a whole season.
