Been hunting around a bit, seeing what I can find after all this fantastic rain and lovely colder weather!

Found a few interesting things growing amongst pine scrub and other scrub close to a river on NSW's South Coast.

Are a golden brown to lighter brown colour.  Possible slight bruising, darker colour.

Haven't been able to get a spore print yet.

What do you guys think these are??  I've no idea!!

Found these fungal friends growing in woodchips in my backyard in a nice shaded, moist area.. but again - no idea what they are!  These seem to bruise a bit too, and start turning towards the bluish end of the spectrum.

Love the mushroom patch that looks like it's burst through the ground so quickly, the dirt didn't have time to move!!

coprinus or psathyrella. not active, but im pretty sure they have some edibility qualities to some extent as long as they were consumed before the gills go black and the mushroom auto-digest's itself into goo... also no alcohol to be consumed a day or two before and after because of the probability of Coprine being in them, which counteracts with alcohol.

Lactarius deliciosus

And with the subs its a bit hard to guess how many you'd need personally for a medium level trip but I'd recommend eating 2-3 of the smaller ones and see how you go.

Nice finds _JJ_!

engineered: Not active that's for sure, possibly poisonous, spore print will help ID further than that. A separate thread ID request would get a better response so more people can see it.

Dr. Siekadellyk  - Don't know the answer to your querie.. but on another note - try "To fathom hell or soar angelic, just take a pinch of psychedelic!"  Much more poetic!

I'm gonna go Melbourne hunting this weekend I reckon!  So much lovely rain here on the South Coast of NSW though, I have shrooms of all varieties popping up every where in my backyard!

Will take more pretty pictures for you to enjoy.. and hopefully some active finds not too far off!!!

I envy your knowledge undergrounder, went for a hunt in the mtns 2day but to no avail. plenty of non actives though, bring on the colder weather

took a photo of this group that was bigger than my head

And I kept thinking these could be subs but their gills were different

Fathom = To understand.. sorta!  Dictionary it up ;-)!

Went on a bit of a hunt today, no actives again, but some pretty fungi popping up every where!

I was also distracted by the beautiful sunset and the fact that the river is FLOWING!  OMG it's not just sand!

Dr Siekadellyk: Nope, no mushrooms that contain psilocybin that are also poisonous... if you're trippin' your fine! (Just as long as a poisonous one didn't sneak into the mix - Print and bruise every one!)

Dark_globe: Don't worry i didn't find anything the first time either. Actually i did, but RIGHT at the end of the day after spending like 8 hours looking. There will be better picking later when it gets colder.

The last pic you have are of Slipper Jacks (Suillus luteus), a decent edible if you cook them and peel the ganky skin off. They fruit under pine trees only.

If you're after subs, look for chip beds and woody debris. Subs actually look nothing like slippery jacks, and they're a lot smaller. In the field the things to check on subs are: caramel coloured caps, pure WHITE stems, blue bruising when handled. Deadly galerinas for one, will never have the pure white stems, they will always have a lot of brown on the stem.

pheral: Be careful most common blueing Boletes are poisonous.. the blueing in Boletes has nothing to do with activity. Liberty caps aren't commin in Australia if they exist here at all.
