No morels up yet. Found some, ok?

Just thought I'd share some photos of my hunt from the other day. No morels out yet in my area even though rumor is someone locally had already found some.
I said I'd have to see it to believe it.
One mushroom that was out in abundance was the deadly Galerina.

I also managed to get a photo of this daffodil before my dog marked his territory on the unfortunate plant.

All for now.

At least your morel season has started already. I'm gettin' antsy.
I could almost smell them though. Only a matter of hours now.

when i hunt them i use my sense of smell to help find them, ill get a quick whiff of morel and then squat down and scan the ground.
ive always wondered what others would think if they saw me doing that.

Yeah I tend to see more if I just stop and really look around.
A friend that goes with me thinks you have to walk really fast and you'll find more. I follow behind him and find craploads that he misses. Then I show him what he missed and he gets all mad.

Pics or it didn't happen. Your situation may change soon. At least that's what my fortune cookie said.

I feel ya. I always plan on finding none. That way if I find any I'm happy.

Found some black morels today. Only about a hand full, still kinda early. Sorry no habitat shots, didn't bring the camera cause of the rain.

Found a couple different Gyromitra too. Gyromitra esculenta and Gyromitra infula.

Supposed to rain and snow the next couple days and then back into the 60s. Shit should be a little better then.

Does this break your old record for earliest morel?
