misting and casings
    #1019731 - 11/04/02 01:10 AM (15 years, 1 month ago)

so what is the optimal amount of misting a straight up verm casing would need in say a day? just wondering because it is hard to tell how moist the straight verm is and i got a wierd pinning going on. just one big pin in the middle of the whole thing.... thinking maybe the rest needs to be wetter or somethin

I never misted my casing once, and I just pulled 300+ grams. Although it wasn't in a pan and in a flower pot, and the bottom resevoir was filled with water and was drawn up to hydrate my mycelium.

well I used the cake from a myco bag. I used moe's flower pot tek. I layered the bottom with scott's 3-in-1 compost, crushed the cake from the myco bag, and then layered it again with some more compost. When it fully colonized I covered it in a layer of coco coir. like with all flower pots there are holes at the bottom to drain excess water. The water collects into a pan. Well when it dries water is sucked back into the pot. When all the water is used up, I just full up the pan again.
