possible root rot on lophs

theres a brown/rust colored spot on a loph. i think its root rot but just checking with yall first.

one thing i noticed is a little sprout growing in your pot. you typically dont want for a loph to be so wet for that long that a sproat can grow...

Yeah, the soil should not remain wet that long.

I can tell you for sure thats from your loph's being in a to damp environment for to long. I took off on a trip and watered mine well before I went and when I got back a few had the same thing and the pots were still a little heavy, I layed off the water and increased the air circulation and upped the heat(600 watt hps and circulating fan)and they slowly started healing and scabbing over.  I would check and see if they are mushy though, as that might be a sign the fungus or rot has gotten deeper and if they are mushy, uproot them and set them on some newspaper and let them heal up and dry off maybe even get a fan on them.  Then repot when yor certain its healed a bit, might stunt their growth a little but they should be fine.
I don't think you have quite gotten there so probably just lay off the water.
Oh yea nice loph looks healthy otherwise hope the best for it..

ive been watering it about once a week. i think the soil doesnt have enough sand in it. ill dry it out n repot it.

I do all cacti every 2 weeks just to play it safe.

yeah, ill cut it down to that. got it drying out now .ill switch up the soil too i guess it seems to stay wet forever.

also this was the first day ive noticed it and i check em every day so i dont think its been set in too long.

get to surgery today, don't delay or there will be nothing left to work with.
