1st PE Grow and Question <pics>
    #10180653 - 04/16/09 08:37 PM (15 years, 3 days ago)

I started some PE in some WBS jars awhile back. I spawned one jar to coir/worm castings, about 2 inches deep. I did not case.
I neglected the grow for a few days because of other commitments ... grr. I was concerned that nothing was going to grow, but to my surprise, right on the edge of the substrate, a few fruits popped up.

I never noticed a veil on any of the fruits and I've read that this is normal, is this correct? Is it normal for the caps to be wide open like this? When should I pick them? How do these guys look? Keep in mind they were a tad bit neglected.

No veils. When I grew PE, the pins had caps that were already open - I had never once ever seen a veil over 4 flushes. Its hard to tell when to pick them, the only way I could tell is the stem would start to deform just below the cap (turn thicker and bumpy). Enjoy those shrooms, that is the most potent strain Ive ever had!

Picked, eaten, and they are quite potent. I'm pleasantly surprised.
