DO NOT see a chiropractor, the guy i went to FUCKED MY SHIT UP, see a normal doctor if it comes to that, they will most likely x ray ya ass.

I think of my doctor (gen. prac.) as my first line of defense. Based on my symptoms she can either treat me herself or send me off to a specialist.

 I think I fucked myself up worse because I was under the mentality that if I could move past the point of pain fast enough, I'd sort of crack my own back into shape. That was clearly not the case and it hurt like a bitch kicking a motherfucker in the dick.

edit: sorry to hear about your pain, i know from experience as well how horrible it is being unable to do Anything due to back problems. might be a strain, or a sprain. just cause you dont remember fucking it up, doesnt mean there wasnt a significant injury.

Well I managed to miraculously make it downstairs and make some grilled cheese but I had to hold the same position or I knew I'd collapse. I called the doctor and I have an appointment in a few hours. I hope that $80 balance on my insurance doesn't hinder me from getting any service. Do you think it will?

tell em to give you a cortisone shot. that combined with a muscle relaxer and an opiate will make you feel much better. but if you only have a choice of one, go with the cortisone shot.
i ruptured a disc in my back last august. i'm still in pain everyday. not nearly as bad as it was, but bad enough to hinder my day to day life. i gotta get to california. a MM card would be easy for me to get with this MRI of my back in hand.

it sounds to me like you've pulled a muscle or you're having one of those nasty muscle spasms. i'd bet it's not a disc problem which will take MUCH longer to heal. ask him about the cortisone shot, seriously. and don't listen to the chiropractor guy earlier. if it is a muscle spasm, then heat will help relieve the tension. ice will make it tighten up even more. only use ice if you're in my situation where the actual disc is pressing on the nerve causing it to get inflamed.
so let's recap.
1. cortisone shot
2. muscle relaxer
3. opiate
4. heating pad
you'll make it to work tomorrow after that. but still be easy with everything. no heavy lifting or twisting at the hips. trust me, i'm a fuckin back pain wizard.

Well I'm mobile now, I made it to the doc's ok but getting in/out of the car and sitting/standing in general is a bitch. She said it was a really bad spasm and gave me Naproxen and Flexeril. I also got some X-rays done so we'll see what they turn up! I don't think my doctor believes in painkillers or something.

Yep, I told you so, it wouldn't really be thay much better today 
I never went to see the doc for it though. Nothing adderall can't fix, it took away mty back pain
