reptile humus brick = coco coir?
    #10156467 - 04/13/09 06:43 AM (14 years, 11 months ago)

ive been riding round the pet centres this morning and the only one i could find with reptile section stocked bricks of reptile humus, expands to 8 litres of terrarium substrate, it looked like the right stuff so i asked the little whore working there if they had any coco coir, she said closest thing to was this humus brick, she also asked what i wanted it for, not for keeping reptiles was my answer, she said itd be suitable for potting houseplants too. i think i got the right stuff but just wanted to see what u ppl had to say on the matter.

cheers in advance folks

Ive never heard if it referred to in that way but I'm guessing its coir from its description, post a picture of it and ready every word on the label for more clues

I personally would have fucked the little whore that worked there, but that's just me.
But here is a excerpt from a site i found for yeah, just search humus brick and you can find tons on it. It is the same thing, its coco humus or coco coir. but I'm serious go fuck that little whore.

Brick of natural coco humus, guaranteed yeast- and germ free

Excellent substrate for tarantulas and tortoises as well as tropical amphibians and reptiles.
If placed in water, this humus brick will swell up to about 8 liters of humus soil that can be used either as dry or humid substrate. This substrate is a very hygroscopic material, it absorbs water and raises humidity inside the terrarium and is rich with nutrients

No problem, I think you'll love coir and coffee. I use coir/coffee/ verm mixture and have gotten better results than i have with using poo. well with some strains anyway.

yeah it skips out walking round field picking up ploppies also. at £3 for 8 litres is a bit more costly tho. ive got 3 spawn bags on the go and im gonna do 3-4 more this week, if i can get the containers ima try a couple of monotubs.
