a heating pad is to heat terrarium with reptiles
you can probably buy them in a reptile shop
but buying an aquarium heater prevents your jars from drying

Me Mudder had an electric pad that was about 1&1/2ft2. For relieving sore mussles or when you have a flu. Had it damn near as long as I can remember. Look in massage speciality shops if ones around. Or a large pharmacy. Etc.

A heating pad may dry out your jars, and it can be a pretty serious fire hazard if you leave it on for a while. Just go to your local phone book, look up pet stores, and call around to find a submersable heater.

Leapin' lizards Skidman,
You're right about the potential to dry out. But the type of pad I'm talking about can get too hot to rest on your head for long, on the highest setting, but not ever hot enough to even singe the blankets, mattress, newspapers, etc. that we'd have while in our sick beds. No sir, though a reptile would still get burned after awhile(but not as bad asa on a heat rock or reptile pad. I want to use a heat pad 'cause I'd like to do a metal cabinet.
But if you're goin' rubbermaid, asd, ya'd be better ordering a submersible and usin' 2 bins. If only for the fact that ya'd be gettin more even heat distribution. Plus more sensitive temp control besides off, low, med, high.

You can find heating pads at your local Wal-K-Mart in the phamacy section. Hope this helps.

You're heating your fruiting chamber to 85 degrees? Why?

"i bout an electric blanket yesterday and it is bullshit"

why? if it is because it gets too not then so will your heat pad (unless its an expensive one with a thermostat). i have to put a dimmer switch on my pad and it still is hassle. you could buy a 24hr plug timer switch for your electric blanket have it turn on every 30mins for 5 mins (or more or less depending on your room temp and blanket power)
