Kill it and Grill it
    #1013930 - 11/01/02 07:06 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Why are so many people (i.e. PETA) against humans interacting in the food chain like eating meat? These same morons see no problem with predatory animals consuming their own meals.

Honestly, I am against sport hunting for the sake of putting an animals head over the mantle but if you plan on eating the meat then like Ted Nugent says "Kill it and Grill it".

I feel pretty much the same way, I don't think there is anything with humans eating meat per se. One thing that did make me think a lot about our place in the food chain though, was watching to movie "Baraka." It shows how far removed we are from the food we eat, especially meat/poultry. I don't think being that far from your source is a good thing.

That movie had no dialogue or commentary, and all it was was clips of different people and places all over the world. But after watching it, I still was left with the nagging suspicion that most of the people in the developed capatalistic world have lost who they really are and there is something fundamentally wrong with our society. I will make a post about that movie later if anyone's interested.

PETA = People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals

Though there are those that believe eating meat is wrong or gross, most of the PETA people don't eat meat because of the conditions the livestock are put through, they refuse to support the commercialized farm industry that cares only about the all-mighty dollar.  http://www.peta.org/mc/facts/fsveg3.html

I made fun of PETA as a child, now I realize I can only wish to be so disciplined and resourceful as to not support unethical business practices in careless america's society
