Postmortem of a failed tub with trich

Just built my mini-greenhouse , just got it dialed in to provide humidity consistently between 90 and 99% , just got pins up on the first two tubs that I put in the greenhouse , just found trich crawling across one of the tubs .
You can see the trich mycelium in the bottom left corner here. I only recently learned what it looked like, but it seems unmistakable.

I took the tub out and put it in my (currently empty) shotgun to monitor it, but I was only prolonging the inevitable: I knew it had to go. I wanted to think I could save it... there were so many beautiful pins on the tub, and they were my first
I dumped the tray. Back me up here... I was right to get rid of it. That's definitely trich, yes?

I took all the pins and small fruits. Total wet weight: 12 grams.

Substrate was large_dose's coir + gypsum, a bit under a gallon total. Spawn was 2/3 qt rye inoculated with multispore B+. Substrate was colonized for 14 days before fruiting.
Autopsy report Cause of death: trichoderma infestation believed to be caused by premature introduction of fruiting conditions.
Details: The substrate was removed from the tub and broken open. The portion of the substrate underneath the trich contamination was visibly less colonized or uncolonized in spots. On the other hand, the healthy-looking surface of the rest of the substrate turned out to be supported internally by strong mycelium.
Additionally, because I was still fine-tuning my humidifier timing, when I first introduced the substrate to the greenhouse, the humidity was only 70% at times. To help compensate for this, I had been using the wax-paper "casing" tek to try and retain moisture in the substrate. When I was finally getting the humidity figured out, it shot up to 99% one night and drenched the wax paper, causing my trays to sit with the soggy paper over them all night, blocking air exchange.
Steps taken: As long as my greenhouse maintains high humidity, I won't be using the wax paper tek for the time being. If I do use it, I will have to watch it more carefully.
Since my humidity is staying high consistently, I am cutting more slits in the walls of my greenhouse to up the FAE.
The tubs appeared to be 100% on the top when I fruited them. I was impatient about putting the colonizing tubs in the greenhouse. I wanted something to be in there badly enough that I fruited tubs that should have colonized to 100% and then left to sit for a few days. To this day I'm not sure how to accurately tell if a substrate is colonized through and through. I've heard that the mycelium spikes up into the air seeking food when the substrate is fully colonized. I'm watching for that in my new projects.

Yep you were right to trash it, but I wouldn't have bothered to break it up and see. I'd hate to inhale that shit...hope you didn't either.

When you say you put it in the greenhouse, you don't mean you put it in with your plants do you?

I felt pretty safe because there was very little visible green. I think that means there were few spores, and I assume that the mycelium is not harmful. He who thinks I'm wrong may now correct me.

I suspect the trich was in whatever you used as spawn. Trich spores have a very hard time germinating on coir. Many of us have coir doormats outside our houses, and they survive year after year of rainy season while wiping our muddy, trich infested shoes off on it without ever turning green. RR
