Cakes do not colonize all at the same rate. This is because the syringes are multispore samples, and not an isolate of a specific strain. Remember which cake colonizes the quickest, and produces the largest fruits. Look up cloning. Be sure to clone that specimen.

It's pretty normal, mine took about five days, but I've read reports of five to seven days.

Also, 80 degree air means the insides of your jars are closer to 90 which is not good.  Try and decrease the air temp to around 70.

You should have growth in all of your jars by like 2 weeks. Until then, just sit tight and let them do their thing. I don't think I had any growth at 5 days either. Took mine a good week and a half, and some spots were still germinating at 2-3 weeks. I know it sucks, but all you can do is have patience and faith :mushroom2:

his temps are fine. pf jars only produce a few degrees of heat during colinisation.

In not a fan of incubating, however its not the cause of his slow/non germiantoin.

Time is his problem. The last set of jars i done didnt show any signs until day 9.

day 5 is still 2 early to be worried.

Also make sure your inoculation holes are not covered. You need gas exchange.

Strain is irrelevant.  There was probably more spores in one syringe than the other, and that's not necessarily a good thing.

Just wondering but how is having more spores a bad thing?

they compete for resources (nutes and air)
and if that happens then none will grow or it will go REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY slow cuz none will have sufficient food and water to grow properly...
