what my instructor calls the turtle is your legs are behind you and you bring your inner legs to the ground while keeping the bottoms of your feet touching. and you place your chin on the floor in between your hands.

It's like this, except imagine her knees are bent to where the soles of her feet are against each other, inner thighs and inner calfs against the floor, and her chin is on the floor. And her elbows are bent outwards and her whole inner arm is against the floor. Basically the whole front of the body is against the floor.  You get into the pose by turning your hips outward, not by being in the pictured pose and bending your legs. That would be a no-no I'm pretty sure.

Maybe I was mistaken about it being called the turtle, but I'm pretty sure that's what my instructor said.
