flipping jars upside down
    #10116098 - 04/06/09 11:12 AM (15 years, 9 months ago)

my freind has some pf jars that are colonized only the top 75% of the jar. should he just let them finish how it is or will flipping make the bottoms colonize?  i remember people saying along time ago not to flip but recently ive read about people flipping...
thanks

You can flip them I always do for better FAE. Just remeber to keep them flipped because vermiculite now can fall down the sides of the cake and pose a risk for contams

wont this cause the jars to not be able to exchange gasses through the holes?

Flip em....just keep em elevated so the holes are exposed.
