How do I shake jars? of colonizing wbs?

Bang it against duct tape? I don't think regular shaking is going to work. Is banging it against duct tape too traumatic?

use the search bar more this is covered daily along with almost everything else u ask
-------------------- I agree totally. However, this forum isn't for the experienced growers, because they already know the ropes. It's for the new growers who are just starting out. Sometimes the hardest part about learning something new is un-learning bad info. That's why I tend to correct people for calling a substrate tray a 'casing', etc.

i did search and everything on it was either bang it against a tire right after pcing or telling me the percentages.

shake grain? ... works for me when I search.. when its like 30 to 40 % bank it on something like a tire or phone book

When grain is semi-colonized shake with your hand. For fully colonized grain, smack the hell out of it. On a tire or duct tape is fine. Your not going to hurt it. A solid white chunk of mycelium covering grain is tough. Just don't break the jar. That's too hard!
When the kernels are separate, stop.
