So my jars are at about 90% colinization and when i looked at the thermometer it said that it was like 95 degrees. i immediately took the jars out of the incubator and let them cool. im very scared that i might have fried them or got them to hot.what is the hottest they can get without being damaged.please help

Well good thing you took em off there fine i think the dyeing temp of mycelium is 160 or that might be psylocybe. anyways your fine just use a towel next time on the bottom of the incubator. just them being slightly warm ive notice helps alot!

I thought it was 106 that kills mushrooms...well, 160 should effectively pasteurize the jars as well. your jars should be fine. Just make sure it doesn't happen again; it deffinitely isn't good for the mycelium. good luck myk

You might try flipping the jars, making sure not to shake them if they are brf jars. Give them a good sniff, if they don't smell right it might be a contamination causing the stalling. As for the heat, I've had a few jars spend a little bit of time in the mid 90s and they lived through it, I wouldn't worry too much about that. It's definitely something to avoid in the future though.

You've probably already ruined them with excessive heat. You're supposed to colonize jars at normal room temperature. Anything above 81F is going to stimulate molds and bacteria more than mushroom mycelium. RR

Especially if they were exposed to extreme heat, it's possible the top of the substrate has dried out too much for the mushrooms to effectively colonize it. Is it all colonized except for he top? Otherwise, there may be a contam or the mycelium may be in shock. If it is because the top appears to have dried out (you can also tell it the boarder of the mycelium is a light blue), you may as well take it out and dunk/roll. hope you get your jars running again! myk

Condensation is normal. Only time will tell. Just give them a few days, they may recover. If not, you could try using some of the top mycelium as spawn, but I'm not sure if that'll grow if the jar wont finish colonizing. (hell, if dried shrooms can colonize a jar...) But really, that may be more hastle than it's worth. keepin my fingers crossed for ya man! myk
