You can flip them till they finish, just make some space so the filter can breathe.
-------------------- Evolution is Lamarckism in disguise. Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated. For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.

I had a 1 pint brf that I had upside down for 2 weeks just make sure it can breathe. Also don't move it around to much you might get condensation that drips into your verm layer providing moisture for nasties to grow.

I would recommend flipping them back and forth every 24 hours, just to play it on the safe side for gas exchange. As for the jar condensation, it's really not that much of a threat for the dry verm layer. Be sure to avoid shaking the jar, for this can mess up the filter. Some of it could end up all over the sides, providing entry to any kind of contamination the dry verm picked up.

If you flip a jar over, leave it until it's finished. Going back and forth can disturb the verm barrier, thus leading to contamination. RR

Especially when the cake shrinks during colonization, it's easier for the verm to travel down.
