noobie question
    #10110202 - 04/05/09 12:24 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

I have some jars that have been colonizing for 3weeks. There is still a spot on two of them(smaller than a dime) that hasn't colonized. would it hurt them if I scraped off the verm. Then dunked them and put them into the shotgun.

I was reading a forum that said you could cut ou the uncolonized area adn take a knife and heat it up and basically burn the bad spot so contam can not penatrate the substrate.

nope, just wait.  You can place the jar uncolonized part up to make it finish faster.  Your grain/cake is probably too wet which is causing things to be slow.

Evolution is Lamarckism in disguise.  Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated.  For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.
