mushroom harvesting
    #1010839 - 10/31/02 06:34 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

Upon harvesting my first flush I waited a few hours before drying out my mushrooms, and i think some of them decomposed a little, does the decomposition of the mushrooms take away from the potency if they arent completely rotted?

A few hours shold not make a difference, unless they weren't getting fresh air and some bacteria started growing on them.

The most obvious sign of not drying quick enough is that they turn blue. This is just oxidation of the psychoactive substances, not rot or decomposition. When you pick em' just drop them cubies next to a fan ontop of a magazine. As they begin to dry out the cubies stick to the magazine which keeps them from blowing around later as they get drier and light.

Dont worry about it man.... you are good to go. If you kept them in a zip-lock in heat, then worry, otherwise, its all good.
