Ques on FC

This is my first go at growing mushrooms, and I wanted to post my FC setup & get your opinion on it. It's below a window on the north side of the building, so no direct sunlight. I know air exchange is important, so I cut holes on the top. Now I work long hours, so I setup a low-powered fan to blow across the top when I'm not here, if I'm here, I leave the fan off & manually fan-in air every so often...I just put it in yesterday after doing the dunk & roll, so no pins yet.
I know it looks like a waste to have a 10-gal fish tank holding a single cake, but I'm a virgin at growing mushrooms, so I just wanted to make sure I did everything right before making multiple cakes. I have 3 more cakes that are mostly colonized.

Hey buddy buy a humidifier and temp gauge so you can monitor humidity and temp. you could also buy a timer so you can turn on and off a small flourecsnet light to get 12on/12off hours proper lighting times. Also look up the shotgun (FC) fruiting chamber tek helps with air exchange you could put some nice fish in there.

Unfortunately, I can't put holes in the side, I don't have the tools for it (nor the money to buy 'em). Also, I'm not sure what material the walls are made of, so I don't know if it would just create a hole or actually spider-web crack it.

yea the thing about the air exchange is your trying to get rid of the co2 which is heavier then air so it will sink to the bottom that's where you need to make some air exchange. maybe rig up the fan with a filter to blow inside the fc to get that co2 moving.

OK, thanks for the tips. I am planning on using the shotgun tek after I move at the end of June, I just don't have the money to change to shotgun right now. I'll definitely change the setup of the fan, though.
Thanks again!

At the very least, get that darned thing off the carpet. 90% or more of all contaminants in a room are within 1 foot of the floor. Turn that aquarium on its side so your holes in the lid are on the side rather than the top. Build a shotgun terrarium as soon as you can afford a drill and tub. RR
