help with sudden and widespread contam

I was doing all my work (spawning, casing, G2G transfers) in my bedroom in the open air for about 2 years with about a 90% success rate.. For the last few months, though, I've been using the same procedures and have been getting a near 90% failure rate..
Obviously, I need to change up my procedure, so I built a very ghetto still air glove box out of an storage tote with garbage bags duct taped to the holes I made for arms..
From what I understand, it's OK to do spawning and casing in open air, and my spawn jars and my G2G transfers are where my problem lies.. If these assumptions are faulty, please correct me so that I can try to nip this contam in the bud..
Also I would like to know if people have success with the kind of "ghetto glove box" I described, and also if I can test my glovebox with agar.. Could I PC a small amount of agar in a canning jar, open the lid in the glovebox and leave it uncovered to check for airborne contams??
Sorry for the unorganized text and all my ignorance.. Hoping you guys can help me with this..

I would just start doing that in the glove box. I've never used the "ghetto" method u've decribed, but it seems like it would work. Go ahed and try the agar idea if you want just leave it in there for a while and then incubate for the fastest results.

The problem comes once you've had a bad trich outbreak or two. Then, the sporeload in your house is so high, it's hard to generate spawn without it becoming infected.
As long as your glove box stops the air currents you'll be fine. Wear gloves and wipe down all jars, etc., with 70% alcohol before opening. To pad your bet, shut down the heat or AC before working, and use a mist bottle to spray the air in the room. This will 'trap' airborne contaminants and drop them to the floor. Do the same inside the glovebox. Work fast so no jar is open for more than a few seconds. RR

cool! thanks for the wisdom guys.. I'll be using my glovebox from now on..
I'd like to upgrade my glove box a bit.. Still would like to use homemade, but the garbage bag sleeves are a bit hard to work with.. Any suggestions on what to use??
