When's the B-Day??
    #1010345 - 10/31/02 03:44 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Ok, so my friend has a question. 12 jars, a little over two weeks. One shows nothing, nine are 10-50 percent. I have a question about 2. They are about 80 percent colonized. A little ways to go near the bottom, then an extra week for the inner area. These are gonna be ready at least a week or two before the others. It's B+ by the way. Should my friend hold these 2 out to catch up with the rest? Until pins appear inside the jar or something? Or just terrarium them? The concern with this, is a 18 gallon rubbermaid with perlite is planned, which just seems to big to just put 2 cakes in there. Any advice appreciated. Also, some water got in one jar on the substrate. One of the 80 percent ones. Its because the ramsey seal was used and tape wasnt, which he says he will never do again.  It doesn't look infected but should it be cut out on the birthday?  Its wet mycellium. Too bad he doesnt have a digital camera...

Sorry this is so long. I should get my friend a book for his birthday!

Peace and thanks!

First of all, it doesn't matter what the size of the terrarium is, as long as the rh is right, the one, two or twenty cakes will be fine. Second of all, as long as there's no weird colors involved, wet mycelium is not a problem. Just leave it be on the birthday as long as there's no sign of contamination.
