Did you make cakes or did you inoculate grains?

I inoculated quarts of WBS. My jars reached 30% colonized, I shook them, and they are on their way to full colonization. I intended to crumble them, mix 50:50 with moist vermiculite, lay it out in 6qt trays, and allow them to recolonize. I'll probably case 1/2 of my trays and see which way I prefer.

I would suggest fruiting half of each strain as cakes and then casing the rest. Casing your cakes with an additional substrate layer of coco coir can really boost your yields. It takes an additional week or so for it to colonize the bottom casing layer in your incubator (which isn't entirely necessary, you could just wait until the top casing layer is colonized instead) and then toss it into your FC. Experiment with a few methods and find what works best for you. :mushroom2:

McKenna: I think that I am always, from the very first psychedelic experience, had the uncanny intuition that "Yes this has been around for 50,000 years" but it somehow going to be critically important in our lifetime. That we will need it for something. Maybe just to think our way out of the mess that we're getting into.
Shulgin: If it's needed, we have it. That's the beauty. The tool is there. For the time when the need is obvious. And this may be our lifetime...
